Due to current circumstances in which most users are not on campus, end users can also obtain a CASA token while accessing from the library’s proxy service or VPN. This will allow end users to obtain a CASA token from outside of the library’s physical location.
For Google CASA, Google automatically creates an affiliation (or a “token”) between the end user and the University of Kentucky. End users must be on a library network (IP) to obtain a CASA token. Google CASA tokens typically persist for 30 days. However, in light of COVID-19 circumstances and end users accessing remotely more frequently, Google has extended all CASA tokens to persist for a longer period.
Universal CASA extends the CASA user experience to other places where end users may start their research, such as a web search, PubMed, or URLs to CASA-participating publishers found elsewhere. Visit the FAQ page to learn more about the new feature.
